A girl follows a waistcoated rabbit down a hole that should not go anywhere, and finds one that goes everywhere instead — a bottle that shrinks her, a cake that grows her, and a pool of her own tears deep enough to nearly drown a mouse, a duck, and a dodo along with her. Grown giant again inside a stranger's house, she gets stuck fast in the windows and has to kick a lizard down the chimney to be free of him. And on a mushroom at the edge of the wood, something is sitting and smoking a very long pipe, entirely unbothered by how strange she's become.
